Dr. Iwan Paolucci

Presenting author, “Targeted exome-based predictors of progression patterns of patients with colorectal liver metastasis after percutaneous thermal ablation.”

Why did you choose CIRSE to submit your scientific abstract?

Paolucci: CIRSE is one of the top conferences for interventional radiology and a perfect platform to present my research. I presented this particular work because I was looking for feedback from physician scientists and to find collaborators who would be interested in replicating the results from our single-institution study or collaborating on similar studies in the future.

Are there any special considerations to take into account when submitting this type of abstract?

Given the context of CIRSE, I think it is important to tailor the abstract towards a broad and international audience of interventional radiologists. The work should show a potential impact on patient care in the future.

How did you find the submission process?

It was quite easy and efficient to handle. No problems.

Do you have any tips for physicians considering submitting an abstract?

Since I am a biomedical engineering scientist, I will provide a tip to non-physicians: I would encourage submitting work that is in a translational stage. CIRSE is a great platform to find potential collaborators for a new technology.

Will you submit an abstract for CIRSE 2023 as well?

Most likely!
