Why did you choose to submit a FIRST@CIRSE abstract?
Hendriks: As CIRSE is the platform for interventional radiology, presenting at this conference seemed like the perfect chance to share and discuss our study results with the community.
Are there any special considerations to take into account when submitting this type of abstract?
During the CIRSE conference, FIRST@CIRSE sessions are dedicated to sharing first study results. Therefore, this session is attended by many innovative interventional radiologists and researches. I found it to be a great platform to share the study results. Moreover, the critical questions were valuable suggestions for my manuscript.
How did you find the submission process?
The submission process is easy, although the 250 words limit challenges you to be very concise in writing about your study. The online platform for submission works well, and there is a timely notification upon acceptance of the abstract.
Do you have any tips for physicians considering submitting an abstract?
I would encourage physicians doubting about submitting an abstract to just do it! It is a great and exciting experience to be able to share your work with other physicians and scientists. After attending CIRSE, you will definitely come back with more ideas for future works
Will you submit an abstract for CIRSE 2023 as well?
Yes, I will! No first clinical study results this year unfortunately, but in our group we have been working on other exciting stuff that I would like to share.
