Dear colleagues,
Enthused by the many insightful lectures and discussions at IDEAS 2025, we have started work on next year’s symposium with our fantastic IDEAS 2026 Programme Planning Committee.
As always, IDEAS will pivot around a multidisciplinary approach to aortic aneurysmal and dissection pathologies treatment with sessions in various formats befitting of the issues at hand, ranging from expert round tables with key opinion leaders to video learning and case-based discussions to hot topic symposia.
In one expert round table, titled “Evolution or revolution in the aorta”, we will look at new technology in endovascular aortic treatment, including AI and novel imaging applications. Another panel, again featuring both interventional radiologists and vascular surgeons alike, will dissect the status of chronic aortic dissection.
In “Hot topics in aortic repair”, we will look at new inner branch features and review type B dissection trials, among other things. A session not to be missed! Another session that we would recommend to any practitioners will be the focus session on current anatomical limits in urgent settings where we will scrutinise physician-modified as well as off the shelf devices and how far we can go to provide the adequate treatment.
This symposium would not be complete without exchanges of tips and tricks for daily practice. In a dedicated video learning session, we will look at what are the current options for the treatment of type 2 endoleaks. IDEAS 2026 will also feature various case-based discussions, including “Nightmare cases”, in which expert practitioners will share how they proceeded when things did not go according to plan. In another case-based session, we will focus on the best bail-out interventions. A controversy session on thoraco-abdominal and pararenal issues is also bound to be extremely interesting.
For those wishing to expand their knowledge and practical skills, we will again offer practical courses, on one side providing practical tips and tricks for FEVAR, and on the other focusing on indications and adjuncts of standard EVAR.
As you can see, IDEAS 2026 will be packed with interesting content no practitioner should miss. We look forward to seeing you there!
