SPHAIRE, an interactive area dedicated to deepening the understanding of what emerging technologies including artificial intelligence (AI) can bring to Interventional Radiology (IR) will be launched at CIRSE 2024 and become an integral part of all future CIRSE Annual Congresses.
Cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics are increasingly being used in healthcare. Their advancements have the potential to make a major impact on medical and economical scenarios. AI algorithms can help future decision making in IR and develop predictive models, improve image quality, support navigation and reduce radiation doses. AI and other emerging technologies therefore holds great potential for IR. The opportunity to improve patient selection and treatment optimization as well as treatment efficacy evaluation, through the generation of classifiers, including imaging biomarkers, and through the generation of relevant clinical information is essential for the future of IR.
This is why CIRSE has created this state-of-the-art extension to its annual congress, aiming to bring together interventionalists, researchers, scientists, engineers, as well as MedTech, AI, and robotics companies in a dedicated area featuring an exhibition and an open podium for presentations, interactive discussions, and demonstrations. With this, CIRSE aims to support knowledge acquisition and mutual understanding through enhanced access to emerging technologies, and to nurture connections and collaborations between the various stakeholders.
