Dong Erk Goo

Dr. Don Gerk Goo is the Director of the Hangil Radiology Clinic, based in Seoul, South Korea, which specializes in treating dialysis patients.  He was previously the president of KSDA (Korean Society of Dialysis Access), and prior to that, the secretary general of KSDA. He is also an active member of KSIR (Korean Society of Interventional Radiology).

Prior to working at the Hangil Radiology Clinic, he worked at a university hospital for about 30 years and performed many procedures, including balloon angioplasty, thrombectomy, and stenting of numerous haemodialysis accesses, and had a great influence on the Korean dialysis access.

Dr. Goo graduated from Chungnam University in 1989, majoring in medicine.  He trained in interventional radiology at Asan Medical Center. He served as a professor of medicine at Soonchunhyang University Hospital for 25 years.

Dr. David-Dimitris Chlorogiannis is a resident physician in internal medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital/Harvard Medical School and an incoming interventional radiology integrated resident at UMass Chan Medical School. His work lies at the crossroads of interventional oncology and artificial intelligence, where he focuses on advancing and standardizing minimally invasive cancer treatments.

Dr. Chlorogiannis received his M.D. from the University of Patras School of Medicine in Greece in 2022. During medical school, he earned a full scholarship to complete a clinical subinternship in interventional radiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital, graduating with honours. He also holds a master’s degree in medical research methodology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, investigating the application of cryoneurolysis for pain palliation in patients with cancer.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Chlorogiannis has been fortunate to collaborate with multiple institutions. As a research scholar at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, he worked alongside the National Center for Advanced Technologies for Image Guided Therapy and MIT on image registration, ablation therapy, and deep-learning segmentation. At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, he led projects evaluating image-guided ablation for colorectal liver metastases. He has also contributed to research on treatment disparities in interventional radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, and at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, he helped develop educational resources for medical trainees. His work at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens focuses on image-guided interventions in solid tumours and cancer-related pain management.

Dr. Chlorogiannis has authored/co-authored more than 130 peer-reviewed publications/abstracts and presentations. His research contributions have been presented at major international meetings including CIRSE, ECIO, SIR, and SIO. He has received several honours, including the 2025 Young IO Research Fellowship from the Society of Interventional Oncology, the Best Scientific Paper Award at ECIO 2024, and several top-ranking abstract honours. He has also received research and travel scholarships from Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Society of Interventional Oncology.

Beyond his research, Dr. Chlorogiannis is deeply committed to education and service. He is involved in raising awareness and training in interventional radiology across Greece through the Society of Junior Doctors, participated in rural health missions with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s Mobile Medical Units Initiative, and actively mentors international medical graduates navigating U.S. residency applications.

Dr. Chlorogiannis is passionate about advancing equitable, accessible, and evidence-based cancer care, solidifying the role of interventional radiology in cancer treatment.
