The European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE), founded in 1964, is celebrating its 60th birthday in 2024. ESGE represents 41 national societies of endoscopy in Europe, the Mediterranean, and North Africa, and has more than 4,300 individual members. ESGE’s mission is to educate, innovate, disseminate, support, and promote quality in the practice of gastrointestinal endoscopy. This mission is grounded in our fundamental values of integrity, patient-centeredness, collaboration, inclusivity, diversity, unity, and scientific rigor.
In 2018, ESGE launched its annual congress ‘ESGE Days’ to provide a platform where GI endoscopy enthusiasts can meet and exchange ideas and to bring together the entire endoscopy team.
