Students at CIRSE 2026

CIRSE welcomes undergraduate medical students to its annual congress. Registration for students is possible free of charge at any time.

Take part in the CIRSE Student Programme at CIRSE 2026 and learn more about one of the most dynamic, innovative, and rapidly growing areas of medicine – interventional radiology!

The CIRSE Student Programme will enable you to learn about interventional radiology and its applications in modern medicine through curated lectures, recommended hands-on device and simulation training sessions, as well as various social evets specifically tailored to undergraduate medical students.

Travel support grant

The first 200 students who successfully register for CIRSE 2026 have a chance to win 200€ in travel support! All students will be automatically considered for the travel support upon completing the registration. Please note that travel support will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so make sure to register early.

To be eligible for travel support, applicants must:

  • be undergraduate medical students both at the time of registration and during the congress
  • be aged 36 or younger
  • reside and study within Europe

What to expect from the Student Programme at CIRSE 2026?

Introducing IR session

This session will give you an overview of IR, followed by short talks from leading interventional radiologists.

Students’ meet & greet event

Be sure to attend the get-together to meet your fellow students and get practical information about the congress.

Mentoring event

At the mentoring event, you will be able to chat with experienced interventional radiologists from Europe and discuss what steps are required to become an IR.

Students on stage

The “Students on stage” session will allow six students whose abstracts were accepted to present their educational work to their peers. If you would like to present your research, educational abstract or case report, make sure to submit your abstract by March 12, 2026.

Students’ quiz

You will be able to prove your newly gained IR knowledge and win great prizes!
