Sustainability travel grant

On the occasion of the CIRSE Annual Meeting 2026, CIRSE will provide 54 travel grants (of up to €500 each) for young European radiologists/IRs not yet registered for the congress.

All medical residents, fellows, and recently graduated physicians in diagnostic and interventional radiology (within their first five years of practice), both in Europe and overseas, are invited to apply for the travel grant.

Eligibility requirements

  1. Applicants must be a radiology resident, fellow, or young physician
  2. Applicants must NOT be registered for the congress at the time of their application
  3. The grant of €500 must be used to cover travel and accommodation expenses

Applications must include

  1. The completed online application form
  2. An up-to-date CV
  3. A motivation letter that includes a detailed travel plan to Copenhagen (highlighting sustainable choices)

Application deadline: July 2, 2026 (23:59 CEST)

Notifications regarding successful or unsuccessful applications will be sent out during the second week of July. Upon receiving this notification, all arrangements—including congress registration, travel, and accommodation—must be completed within one week and confirmed with the CIRSE office.

The top three grant recipients with the most sustainable travel plans will be awarded an additional €500. The winners will be selected by the CIRSE European Trainee Forum jury and announced approximately one week before the congress. Winners will also have the opportunity to share their experiences at the congress and will be featured in an interview for the CIRSE Insider.

If you have any queries regarding the grants, contact us at [email protected].

This initiative is kindly supported by the city of Copenhagen.
